Bad weather forces suspension of second day of sailing at Santiago 2023

After the excitement of Saturday on the Chilean coast, the second date of the nautical sport was interrupted due to the rough seas.

Sunday, october 29nd, 2023.- After the emotions and adverse weather conditions that were present on the coast yesterday, the second sailing date was suspended by the judges in charge of the competition.

The north wind and strong waves, reaching up to 4 meters at times, settled in early in the bay of Algarrobo, leading the Race Committee to cancel today's event to ensure the safety of the athletes and organizers who would be out on the waters of the V Region.

At 12 o'clock, the authorities had postponed the Tunquén course, and subsequently, all the courses after an hour. After two hours of delay and in anticipation of an improvement in the weather conditions, the decision was made to cancel all the qualifying races for each class on the second day.

The weather forecasts for tomorrow promise improvements in the weather conditions, allowing the event to proceed as scheduled.
