Canoe Slalom: United States Maintains Dominance and Secures Two Gold Medals in K

Evy Leibfarth in the female category and Joshua Joseph in the male category emerged victorious in the second finals held on the waters at the Aconcagua River. With these results, the United States earned three gold medals out of four events, while the remaining gold went to Brazil.

Sunday, october 29nd, 2023.- Confirming their dominance at the Aconcagua River, the United States clinched gold medals in both the female and male K1 categories in the Canoe Slalom competition at the 2023 Pan American Games.

In the female category, Evy Leibfarth took the gold, with the silver going to Brazil's Omira Estacia, and the bronze to Canada's Lea Baldoni. Following them were Mexico's Sofía Reinoso, Ecuador's Emilie Armani, and Peru's Lenny Ramírez.

In the male category, Joshua Joseph secured the gold, silver went to Brazil's Pedro Goncalvez, and the bronze to Canada's Mael Rivard.
Chilean competitor Andraz Echeverría narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place, followed by Mexico's Antonio Reinoso and Venezuela's Alexis Pérez.

Previously, the C1 finals were held, with the American Zachary Lokken winning in the male category and the Brazilian Ana Satila in the female category. The canoe slalom events will conclude this afternoon with the semifinals and finals of the K1 kayak cross.
