Canada defeats Trinidad and Tobago and remains unbeaten in the semifinals

The North American field hockey team secured a resounding 4-0 victory over the Caribbean team, reaffirming their leadership in Group B.

Sunday, october 29nd, 2023.- The Canadian team achieved a comfortable 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago, allowing them to finish the male field hockey Group B of Santiago 2023 unbeaten.

Sean Michael Davies, Matthew Sarmento, James Kirkpatrick, and Gordon Johnston scored the goals for the North American team's victory, which had already qualified for the semifinals after their 2-1 victory over the United States in the second match.

In their debut, they also defeated Brazil 2-0.

On the other hand, the Caribbean team concluded their participation without winning a single match, conceding 12 goals and scoring only two.

For a spot in the final, Canada will face the second-placed team from Group A, which will also be determined during this Sunday. As of now, with the matches of this round pending (Argentina vs. Peru and Chile vs. Mexico), the leader was the Argentine team, followed by the locals.

Meanwhile, in the last match of Group B, at 5:30 p.m., Brazil and the United States will compete to determine the other qualifier from this group. Both teams have accumulated three points, but the goal difference favors the North Americans.
