Long-duration tests are conducted on Sunday

Athletics will take center stage with the 20-kilometer race walk, but in addition, the 10 km open water swimming event and the road cycling competition, with 157.5 km for male and 122.5 km for female, will be contested.

Sunday, October 29.- The Sunday session of the 2023 Pan American Games will be marked by the holding of three long-distance events on the streets (and in the waters) of Santiago: the 20-kilometer race walk, the 10 km open water swimming, and the road cycling competition.

The race walk, which officially introduces athletics to the event, will start at 7:00 a.m. for male, while female will compete starting at 9:00 a.m.

Open water swimming, on the other hand, will take place at Laguna Los Morros at 9:00 a.m. for female and 2:30 p.m. for male.

Finally, the road cycling will encompass a demanding 17.5-kilometer circuit, including an ascent to Cerro San Cristóbal with a maximum elevation of 758 meters.

Female will begin at 9:00 a.m. and complete seven laps of the circuit (122.5 km), while men will do nine laps (157.5 km) starting at 1:00 p.m.

Just as athletics starts with the race walk, this Sunday will also mark the debut of female's softball and table tennis. Meanwhile, canoe slalom, equestrian eventing, basketball, female's handball, and tennis will say goodbye to Santiago.

Finally, action will continue in soccer, field hockey, judo, and sailing.
