Colombia secures gold in Mixed Doubles Tennis by defeating Brazil

The Colombian pair won in two sets against the Brazilians to secure the gold medal.

Sunday, October 29.- The Colombian pair composed of Yuliana Lizarazo and Nicolás Barrientos defeated the Brazilians Luisa Stefani and Marcelo Demoliner in two sets at the Court Central of Estadio Nacional. 

Thus, Colombia secured the gold medal in mixed doubles tennis after beating Brazil 6-3, 6-4 in the final match of the Saturday session. 

The match was in favor of the Colombian pair from start to finish, with a strong start and not giving any break opportunities on their serves, overpowering the Brazilian opponents. 

An early service break in the first set was enough for Lizarazo and Barrientos to claim it 6-3. 

In the second set, once again, a break was sufficient for the Colombian duo to close the match with a score of 6-4, earning them the gold medal. Brazil took silver, and the bronze went to Argentina, which defeated Peru.
