Chile secures female's field hockey semi-finals with a victory over Canada

The local team achieved a significant victory against the current Pan American silver medalists, ensuring their place in the female's field hockey semifinals.

Saturday, October 28.- The Chilean female's field hockey team achieved a significant 2-0 victory over Canada, securing their spot in the semi-finals of the Pan American Games.

With goals from Camila Caram and Laura Müller, ‘Las Diablas’ secured their second win in Group B, earning six points and ensuring their place in the top four.

After the match, which was attended by a large number of spectators, the scorer of Chile's first goal, Camila Caram, stated, "We are quite happy with the game, the determination, and the energy from the crowd that filled us with enthusiasm. We were very confident. We kept our composure, and the game went the way we wanted."

In the final Group B match, Chile will face Cuba, and a victory would allow them to finish first in their group. Depending on the results in Group A, this could help them avoid facing Argentina in the semi-finals (if Argentina wins their group), a team that is aiming to defend their Pan American gold from Lima 2019.

Regarding the upcoming match against Cuba, Caram mentioned, "In each of the games, we enter with everything to enjoy, as it's a dream to play in these Pan American Games. We will keep working, and we want the podium and qualification for the Olympic Games."
