Mexico and Cuba draw, complicate their chances in field hockey

In an intense match, the Mexican and Cuban teams ended with a 1-1 draw, making it more difficult for them to reach the semi-finals.

Saturday, october 28nd, 2023.- Mexico and Cuba drew 1-1 in their second match in Group B of female's field hockey, a result that doesn't favor their chances of making it to the semifinals at the Pan American Games.

This is because both countries ended up with just one point, and in the last match of their group, they face challenging opponents. Cuba will play against Chile, while Mexico will face Canada.

Cuba took the lead with a goal from Yuraima Vera, and Mexico equalized with a goal from Dariana Cardiel.

After the game, the Mexican top scorer said, "We're a bit sad because we planned to win the game, but it didn't happen. We only managed to draw, and now we have to wait. Personally, I'm left with a bad taste from the match because we were very close to winning, and we need to be more attentive to rebounds, passes, and finishing," Cardiel added.

Mexico's next match will be on Monday, the 30th, at 11:30 local time, while Cuba will play against Chile on the same day at 7:30 p.m. local time.
