Brazil claims gold in Female's Tennis Doubles

The duo composed of Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani defeated the Colombian pair consisting of Fernanda Herazo and Paulina Pérez.

Saturday, october 28nd, 2023.- Brazil added another gold medal by winning the female's doubles tennis final, defeating Colombia on the Court Central at Estadio Nacional.

The Brazilian pair, consisting of Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani, won 7-5 and 6-3 against the Colombian duo of Fernanda Herazo and Paulina Pérez, in one hour and 34 minutes of play.

The match was closely contested, but Pigossi and Stefani were more precise in converting the break points they had in their favor, securing the first set 7-5.

In the second set, the Colombians put up a fight until it reached 3-3. It was at that moment when the Brazilians capitalized on their opponent's errors and, with a strong net game, took the set 6-3, winning the match.

The podium in female's doubles tennis included Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina, with Chile finishing fourth.
