Costa Rica and Bolivia say goodbye to females soccer with a disappointing draw

The Central American team needed to win by at least three goals to advance to the semi-finals, but they couldn't accomplish it. Consequently, Argentina will be competing for a medal at Santiago 2023.

Saturday, October 28.- The final lineup for female's soccer is set because on Saturday, the final group stage matches were played at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

At the Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar, Group B was concluded, with Costa Rica and Bolivia being eliminated from the competition.

In the first match, the United States defeated Argentina 4-0, a result that gave the Central American team a chance to advance to the next round. To do so, they needed to beat the South American team by at least three goals, a situation that didn't materialize.

Costa Rica and Bolivia delivered a modest performance in the last match of their group, ending in a goalless draw. Despite the efforts of the Costa Rican team to score, they couldn't find the back of the net. With that score, both teams were eliminated.

Group B was led by the United States with nine points, followed by Argentina with four points, Costa Rica with two points, and Bolivia with one point.

Now, female's soccer advances to the semi-finals, where the host nation, Chile, will face the favorite, the United States, while Argentina will compete against Mexico.
