Tennis: Argentina conquers bronze in female’s doubles by defeating Chile

The pair composed of Julia Riera and Lourdes Carlé defeated the Chilean duo of Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña in straight sets.

Saturday, october 28nd, 2023.- Argentina secured the bronze medal in the female's tennis doubles thanks to the performance of the duo composed of Julia Riera and Lourdes Carlé, who defeated the Chilean pair Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña in straight sets.

The match took place at the Grandstand, where the Argentinian team prevailed with a double 6-3 victory, after 1 hour and 16 minutes of play.

The Argentinian duo capitalized on the errors made by the Chilean players, particularly Guarachi, who struggled with inaccuracies.

In the first set, the Argentinian pair seized the break opportunities provided by their Chilean opponents, winning the set 6-3.

In the second set, Chile mounted a comeback and took a 3-1 lead, but Carlé and Riera regained their rhythm and precision. The Argentinian team closed the gap, secured another break, and ultimately clinched the match with a 6-3 score, earning the bronze medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
