Saturday, october 28nd, 2023.- The Colombian Baseball team went victorious in the Pan American final against Brazil, held at Centro de Béisbol y Sóftbol de Cerrillos.
The Colombian team took the initiative right from the start of the first inning, and Carlos Arroyo, with a great run, marked the score 1-0. Brazil wasted no time and in the next inning, they leveled the score, also through a run, after Osvaldo Carvalho advanced from third base.
Up to that point, the game was evenly matched for both teams. But Colombia pulled ahead on the scoreboard again with another run by Arroyo in the third inning. The dominance of the Colombian team began to materialize. It could have been 3-1 in their favor when José Herrera was tagged out at the end of the third inning.
However, starting from the fourth inning, Colombia decisively pushed Brazil out of the game. They extended the lead to 5-1, 6-1 in the fifth, 8-1 in the sixth, and 9-1 in the seventh inning.
A well-deserved victory for the Colombian national team, securing their first-ever Pan American gold in the history of this discipline.
