Saturday, October 28, 2023.- After nearly three hours of play, Facundo Díaz (109th) defeated Gustavo Heide (202nd) with scores of 4-6, 6-4, and 7-6 (6), becoming the first to secure his place in the male's tennis final at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

With his victory over the Brazilian, the Argentine secured his qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, a reward reserved for the finalists in the male's and female's singles.

His final opponent will be determined in the match between the Chilean Tomás Barrios (105th) and the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (119th).

Additionally, this Sunday will feature the female's final, where the Brazilian Laura Pigossi (125th in the ATP rankings) will face the Argentine María Lourdes Carlé (146th).

While the former defeated the Argentine Julia Riera (157th) in a closely contested match with scores of 4-6, 6-4, and 7-6 (5), the latter outplayed the Canadian Rebecca Marino (166th) with scores of 6-1 and 6-4.

The female's singles final for Santiago 2023 will take place this Sunday, starting at 5:00 p.m.
