United States classified with a perfect campaign after defeating Argentina 4-0

The North American team won all three of their matches in the first phase of female's football, scoring 13 goals and conceding only one. On the other hand, the South American team is at risk of being eliminated if, in the last match of Group B, Costa Rica wins by two or more goals against Bolivia.

Saturday, october 28nd, 2023.- The United States defeated Argentina 4-0 in the Group B of the Pan American female's football and completed their first-round participation with a perfect campaign, securing three victories in as many matches, with 13 goals scored and only one goal conceded.

In contrast, the South American team is seriously at risk of being eliminated, which will happen if this afternoon (6:00 p.m.) Costa Rica defeats Bolivia by a difference of more than two goals in the last match of the group.

Argentina ended with four points and a goal difference of -1, while Costa Rica has one point and a goal difference of -2. In other words, if they defeat the Bolivian team, they will equalize their points, and the possibility of being surpassed in terms of goal difference is quite real, especially considering that in their first two matches, Bolivia lost 6-0 to the United States and 3-0 to the Argentinian team.

Today, at the Estadio Elías Figueroa in Valparaíso, the North American team was superior from start to finish. They were already in the lead by 2-0 at the 20-minute mark, with goals from Kendall Boddak (15') and Charlotte Kohler (20'). In the second half, they quickly built on the lead with goals from Amalia Villarreal (50') and Grace Restovich (54').

Now, Argentina is hoping for a helping hand from Bolivia to advance to the semifinals.
