Saturday's program: sailing and judo take the stage

Ten sports will be in action during this day, with three of them awarding medals: baseball, tennis, and judo.

Saturday, October 28, 2023.- The debut of sailing and judo takes center stage in the Saturday schedule of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, marking the halfway point of the event, while baseball will bid farewell after 11 days of action.

The sailing competition will take place on the waters of the coast town of Algarrobo, which is 120 kilometers from the capital of Chile, and will run until Saturday, November 4th.

Judo, on the other hand, will be held at the Centro de deportes de Contacto del Estadio Nacional and will immediately award its first medals.

In the case of baseball, the sport that opened the Pan American Games with the match between Chile and Mexico will say goodbye to Santiago with the medal matches: Brazil and Colombia will compete for the gold; Mexico and Panama for the bronze.

The other sport that will award medals on this day is tennis, all in doubles: in the female's category, the Colombian pair of María Fernanda Herazo and María Paulina Pérez will face the Brazilian duo Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani; in the male’'s category, the Chilean pair of Tomás Barrios and Alejandro Tabilo will take on the Brazilian pair of Gustavo Heide and Marcelo Demoliner; while in the mixed doubles, the Colombian pair of Yuliana Lizarazo and Nicolás Barrientos will face the Brazilian pair of Luisa Stefani and Marcelo Demoliner.

The rest of Saturday's program includes the semi-finals of female's handball and basketball, the conclusion of the female's football group stage, the second day of female's field hockey, slalom canoeing qualifiers, and the complete equestrian event.
