Friday, October 27, 2023.- Brazilian players Andre Loyola and Wanderley Souto defeated the Cuban duo Jorge Alayo and Noslen Díaz 2-1 to claim the Pan American gold in beach volleyball at Santiago 2023.

The Brazilian volleyball players, who had previously eliminated the Grimalt cousins, didn't have an easy match against the Cuban team, who put up a strong fight and received support from the Chilean crowd, which hadn't forgotten their defeat the previous day.

The first set was comfortably won by the Brazilians (21-12), but in the second, the Cubans mounted a spectacular comeback and won 21-19. The decisive set was a tightly contested battle, with the crowd enthusiastically supporting each point scored by the Caribbean team. However, it was the South Americans who ultimately won (15-13) to secure the gold.

With this victory, Brazil achieved a double gold in both the female’s and male's beach volleyball at Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

This match concluded the beach volleyball competitions, which, for most of its days, had a large and supportive audience in the stands of the venue located in Peñalolén.
