The Brazilian duo of Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani defeated the Chilean pair of Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña.

Friday, october 27, 2023.- Brazil reached the female's doubles final in tennis after defeating Chile in the semifinals. The Brazilian duo of Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani secured a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña.

The local pair started well, breaking in the opening of the match. However, the Brazilian team made a comeback and took control to win the first set 6-2.

The second set began evenly, and after initially having a lead, Chile lost their service game due to a double fault, while the Brazilian duo maintained a high first-serve percentage (81%). This allowed Brazil to win the set and secure their spot in the final on Saturday.

In the final, Brazil will face the Colombian duo of María Fernanda Herazo and María Paulina Pérez. Meanwhile, the Chilean team of Guarachi and Labraña will compete for the bronze medal against the Argentine pair of Lourdes Carle and Julia Riera.

On Saturday, the female's singles semifinals are also set, with Laura Pigossi (Brazil) facing Julia Riera (Argentina) and Lourdes Carlé (Argentina) taking on Rebecca Marino (Canada).
