Chile seeks gold in male's doubles after victory over Costa Rica

The pair composed of Alejandro Tabilo and Tomás Barrios defeated the Costa Ricans Rodrigo Crespo and Jesse Flores in two sets. They will face the Brazilians Gustavo Heide and Marcelo Demoliner in the final.

Friday, October 27.- The Chilean duo consisting of Alejandro Tabilo and Tomás Barrios had no major issues securing their spot in the male's doubles final. They defeated Rodrigo Crespo and Jesse Flores from Costa Rica with a score of 6-1, 6-3 in just one hour and three minutes. 

The match took place at the Grandstand at Estadio Nacional, with the local crowd providing constant support to the Chilean pair. They dominated from the very beginning, winning the first set convincingly at 6-1. 

In the second set, the Chilean duo maintained their dominance with their serves and converted one of the four break points they had in their favor to close the score at 6-3. 

In the quest for the gold medal, this Saturday, the Chilean pair will face the Brazilians Marcelo Demoliner and Gustavo Heide, who defeated the Dominican duo of Roberto Cid and Nick Hardt with a score of 7-6 (4), 6-3. 

In female's doubles, the Brazilian team of Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani defeated the Chileans Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña with a score of 6-2, 6-3. They will now compete for the gold against the Colombian pair of María Fernanda Herazo and María Paulina Pérez. 

Meanwhile, the Chilean duo of Guarachi and Labraña will contend for the bronze medal against the Argentinian team of Lourdes Carle and Julia Riera. 

Saturday also sees the female's semifinals set, with Laura Pigossi (Brazil) facing Julia Riera (Argentina) and Lourdes Carle (Argentina) taking on Rebecca Marino (Canada).
