Friday, october 27nd, 2023.- The United States went first place in the complete equestrian competition, which is taking place at Regimiento Granaderos de Quillota , located 126 kilometers from Santiago. This competition offers qualifying spots for the Paris Olympics and includes dressage, cross country, and show jumping events, as well as individual medals.

In the dressage event, the Americans displayed clear dominance, with three of their representatives securing top positions. The best performance was delivered by Elisabeth Halliday, followed by Caroline Pamucku and Sharon White. The best-placed Chilean rider was Nicolás Ibáñez, who finished in the 22nd position.

In the team competition (which combines individual scores), the United States led the way with a total of 79.8 points, followed by Canada (93.5), Brazil (99.9), Mexico (109.2), Uruguay (125.1), Chile (129.5), Argentina (129.5), and Colombia (131.8).

After the competition, the Chilean rider Ibáñez expressed his excitement, saying, "For me, it has been very emotional. These are my first Pan American Games, and competing with this enthusiastic audience, with the stands full, is spectacular. I love to see this level of commitment from the people to the country, just like us."

The Chilean rider is confident that in the upcoming events, the team will make a strong comeback, stating, "Because for all of us, dressage was the weakest point."

On Saturday, the cross country event will be held, and on Sunday, the competition will conclude with the show jumping competition, which will determine the medalists in both individual and team categories.
