Thursday, october 26, 2023.- The female field hockey team of Chile had an impeccable and high-scoring performance, defeating Mexico 10-0 in their debut in Group B of the Pan American competition.
The top scorer for "Las Diablas" was Manuela Urroz, who scored four goals. They were followed by Fernanda Villagrán and Denise Rojas, each with two goals. The other two goals were scored by Camila Caram and Francisca Tala.
Chile solidified the significant victory in the second half, leveraging the experience gained from the World Championship held in 2022, a historic participation for the host country.
At the end of the match, an emotional tribute was paid to the former Chilean goalkeeper, Claudia Schuler, who passed away this year and participated in four Pan American Games.
The next opponent for the Chilean team will be Canada, who defeated Cuba 7-1. This match will take place on Saturday, October 29th, starting at 7:30 p.m. local time at the Centro Deportivo de Hockey Césped at Estadio Nacional.
