The Chilean pair composed of Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña defeated the Uruguayan duo of Juliana Rodríguez and Taly Light in two sets.

Thursday, october 26nd, 2023.- Chile advanced to the semifinals of the female doubles tennis thanks to the victory of the pair composed of Alexa Guarachi (ranked 67th in the WTA doubles) and Fernanda Labraña (398th). They defeated the Uruguayan duo of Juliana Rodríguez (1243rd) and Taly Light (unranked) with a score of 6-0 and 6-3.

The match, which took place at the Court 2 of the Estadio Nacional, lasted for 59 minutes, during which the Chilean pair was clearly superior to their opponents, who never felt comfortable on the venue's clay surface.

"I'm very happy. It's an honor for me to play with Alexa; she's a player with a lot of experience, and it's easy for me to play with her," Labraña commented after the victory.

"We have high expectations for the semifinal. But it won't be easy. The opponent will be tough, but we're giving it our all for a medal," Labraña added.

The opponent for the Chilean pair will be determined from the winners of the match between the Brazilian duo of Luisa Stefani (14th) and Laura Pigossi (274th) and the Ecuadorian pair of Mell Reasco (1006th) and Camila Romero (550th).
