Female's Basketball: Colombia secured its second Pan-American victory

With a clear win against Mexico, the Colombian female's team has solidified its position as one of the leading teams in Group B, alongside Brazil.

Thursday, october 26nd, 2023.-  So far, the Colombian female's basketball team has had a positive performance at the Pan American Games. After their 73-67 victory over Venezuela in their debut on Wednesday, they added another win by defeating Mexico 66-54 on Thursday evening.

Thanks to this result, the Colombian team is at the top of Group B along with Brazil. Both teams have had a perfect tournament without any losses.

This was the second match of the day, held at the Polideportivo 1 at Estadio Nacional. In this game, Colombia defeated the Mexican team, winning the first, third, and fourth quarters with scores of 18-16, 18-16, and 18-10, respectively. The second quarter was more evenly matched, with both teams scoring 12 points.

The standout player for the winning team was Jenifer Muñoz, contributing 26 points and six rebounds, while Jacqueline Luna led the Mexican team with 13 points and nine rebounds.

For Friday's matches, the final group stage matchups are scheduled: Brazil will face Colombia at 10:30 a.m., determining the Group B's top spot, while Venezuela will play against Mexico at 1:00 p.m.

In Group A, the games scheduled for Thursday evening are Puerto Rico vs. Cuba at 5:30 p.m. and Argentina vs. Chile at 8:00 p.m.
