Thursday, october 26, 2023.- Reaffirming their status as strong favorites, Brazil dominated Cuba with a score of 30-5 on Thursday morning, advancing to the semifinals in female's handball at Santiago 2023 with a perfect record.
In the Gimnasio Polideportivo in Viña del Mar, the current Pan-American champions concluded their participation in Group B with three wins in as many appearances. Additionally, they secured Paraguay's qualification to the top four.
Paraguay, who lost 23-22 to Uruguay in the day's first match, ended up tied on the table with both Cuba and Uruguay, with each team having one win and two losses. However, Paraguay advanced to the next round due to their superior goal difference.
In Group A, Argentina will face Canada, and Chile will play against Puerto Rico later in the day. The Argentine team leads the group with two victories in two matches and has already secured a place in the semifinals.
Further down the standings are the Chilean and Puerto Rican teams, both with one win and one loss, while the Canadian team has only faced defeats and is already eliminated. Therefore, the second qualifier from Thursday's match between Puerto Rico and Chile will be determined.
