Thursday, october 26nd, 2023.- Brazil and Venezuela opened the day of Pan American female's basketball this Thursday at the Polideportivo 1 at Estadio Nacional, in a match valid for Group B, which ended in favor of the first team, with a score of 94-47.
The first quarter surprisingly favored the Venezuelans 21-16, but the Brazilians didn't take long to showcase their skill and dominate the next three quarters 31-5, 28-5, and 19-16.
It's worth noting that Brazil's team won their debut against Mexico with a score of 72-54, while Venezuela suffered its second defeat after losing to Colombia 73-57 the previous Wednesday.
Brazil's top player was Erika de Souza, with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Mariana Durán stood out for the Venezuelan team with 11 points and four rebounds.
The remaining teams in Group B, Mexico, and Colombia, will face each other at 1:00 p.m. on this Thursday. For the schedule on Friday, the last group stage matches are programmed: Brazil will face Colombia, and Venezuela will play against Mexico.
As for Group A, the games to be played later this Thursday include Puerto Rico vs. Cuba (5:30 p.m.) and Argentina vs. Chile (8:00 p.m.).
