Wednesday, October 25, 2023.- The female's football team from Mexico clearly triumphed over their Chilean counterparts in a match of Group A at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in , held at the Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar.

From the early minutes, the Chilean team faced pressure from the North American team. However, they took the lead with a very good goal by Fernanda Pinilla (37').

With the goal in their favor, it seemed that things were improving for the Chilean team. However, three errors by Christiane Endler led to Mexico winning the match convincingly, with goals from Rebeca Bernal (56'), María Sánchez (74'), and Diana Ordoñez (88').

"I feel a great frustration. The defeat was due to my mistakes. It was a tough game, we struggled to get into the game, they pressed us high. Only in the second half did we manage to play a bit better, but it wasn't enough," commented Christiane Endler.

Regarding her noticeable errors, the Chilean captain added, "I was very focused, it didn't happen because of that. When you try to play out from the back, these kinds of mistakes can happen, but when the goalkeeper makes them, it's more evident because it results in a goal. We will try to improve for the next game."

Regarding Chile's upcoming match (Saturday, 18:00 local time), Endler said, "We can only think about Jamaica. Winning and trying to score as many goals as possible because our group rivals have scored a lot."
