Argentina defeats Bolivia, dreams big in Pan American female's football

The team led by Germán Portanova secured their first victory in Group B and dreams of qualifying for the next phase.

Wednesday, October 25, 2023.- When we talk about football, we immediately think of Argentina. This Wednesday, the female's team from that country achieved their first victory at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, defeating Bolivia 3-0 in a match from Group B held at the Estadio Elías Figueroa in Valparaíso.

The opening goal for the Argentinian team came at the 11th minute through Aldana Cometti, who plays for Madrid Club de Fútbol Femenino.

In the second half, the Argentinian side extended their lead when defender Eliana Stabile scored the second goal from a penalty kick at the 46th minute. As the match was coming to a close, Julieta Cruz sealed the score in the 90th minute.

The team led by Germán Portanova secured their first victory and reached four points in Group B, while Bolivia remained at zero.

Argentina will conclude their participation in the group stage on Saturday, October 28th, when they face the United States in Valparaíso at 1:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the Bolivian team will clash with Costa Rica on the same Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in Viña del Mar.
