Wednesday, October 25, 2023.- Canada showcases its almost total dominance in badminton at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. This is evident after winning the gold medal this morning in both male and female doubles. The Canadian delegation continues their success at Centro de Entrenamiento Olimpico.

This new gold medal is won by Brian Yang, who triumphs in the final with scores of 21-18 and 21-6 against Guatemalan Kevin Cordón, representing the Independent Athletes Team.

In this manner, Canada secures its third gold medal in badminton at Santiago 2023, making them one of the two dominant countries in this discipline, along with the United States. While the Canadian team has three golds and one bronze, the Americans have won one gold and two silvers.

It is precisely the United States that celebrates a double victory in the female singles final, as they have two of their representatives in the showdown, with Beiwen Zhang defeating Jennie Gai with scores of 21-8 and 21-12.

With these medals, Canada climbs to the second place in the overall medal standings, accumulating a total of 64 medals (23 of them gold), while the United States continues to lead strongly with 119 medals (55 gold)."
