Wednesday's schedule: basketball and field hockey take the stage

On the other hand, badminton, diving, equestrian dressage, artistic gymnastics, swimming, and rowing will award their final medals and bid farewell to Santiago 2023.

Wednesday, October 25th.- On the sixth day of competition at Santiago 2023, two traditional Pan American Games sports take the stage: basketball and field hockey. The latter will also provide direct qualification spots for the Paris 2024 Olympics. 


Basketball will be played at the National Stadium's Polideportivo, starting with women's matches: Brazil vs. Mexico and Colombia vs. Venezuela in Group A; and Cuba vs. Argentina and Chile vs. Puerto Rico in Group B. 


Meanwhile, at the Field Hockey Center, the male’s teams will face off: Canada vs. Brazil and the United States vs. Trinidad and Tobago in Group A, and Argentina vs. Mexico and Chile vs. Peru in Group B. 


The sports delivering their final medals and bidding farewell to Santiago today include badminton, diving, equestrian dressage, artistic gymnastics, swimming, and rowing. 


Boxing, track cycling, modern pentathlon, and shooting will also award medals on this day, while handball, baseball, football, racquetball, surfing, tennis, indoor volleyball, and beach volleyball will continue their action, although without medal events at this point.
