Mexican Olvera achieves his third gold by winning in synchronized 3-meter spring

The competitor representing Mexico secured the gold medal alongside his partner Rodrigo Diego. In the female’s 3-meter springboard, the Canadian Pamela Ware emerged victorious.

Tuesday, october 24nd, 2023.- Mexicans Rodrigo Diego and Osmar Olvera secured the gold medal in the male’s synchronized 3-meter springboard by amassing 425.46 points.

This latest gold medal marks Olvera's third at the current Pan American Games, as he also claimed the top spot in the 1-meter springboard and the 3-meter springboard.

Following his impressive performance, Olvera expressed his immense satisfaction with the results. "These are my first Pan American Games, and winning three gold medals is something I trained for and visualized, and the results came through," he said.

He added that he knew he could achieve it but had to take it one step at a time in each event. "Now we will prepare for the qualifying event for the World Championships and then get ready for the Olympics," Olvera stated.

The silver medal went to the Colombian pair of Daniel Restrepo and Luis Felipe Uribe (398.67), while the bronze was claimed by the American duo of Tyler Downs and Jack Ryan (368.64).

In the same competition, the Chilean pair of Donato Neglia and Diego Carquín finished in sixth place with 325.14 points.

In the female’s 3-meter springboard, the gold medal went to the Canadian Pamela Ware, who scored 342.75 points.

The silver was awarded to the Mexican Arantxa Chávez (336.85), and the bronze to the American Krysta Palmer (323.85).
