Alejandro Tabilo advances to round of sixteen in Pan American tennis

Chile's representative defeated Costa Rican Jesse Flores in two sets on the Central Court of the National Stadium.

Tuesday, october 24nd, 2023.- Chilean tennis player Alejandro Tabilo (ATP ranking 122nd) advanced to the round of 16 in male’s tennis at the Pan American Games by defeating Costa Rican Jesse Flores (ATP ranking 757th) with a score of 6-4, 6-3 in one hour and 19 minutes.

Despite a somewhat shaky start in which he lost his serve, the Chilean representative managed to settle into the clay court at the Central Court of the National Stadium and recover the break in the eighth game, closing the first set with a score of 6-4.

In the second set, the Chilean imposed his game and significantly improved the effectiveness of his first serve (84%). With the support of the home crowd, he gradually wore down his opponent, who tried to put up a fight but couldn't do enough to overcome the Chilean. Tabilo closed the second set with a score of 6-3.

With this victory, Tabilo secured his place in the round of sixteen, where he will face Paraguayan Daniel Vallejo (ATP ranking 447th).

In another result of the day, Chile's Tomás Barrios Vera (ATP ranking 105th) defeated Barbadian Darian King (ATP ranking 475th) with a score of 4-6, 6-3, and 7-5 after a lengthy two hours and 45 minutes of play.
