Brazil sets a new Pan American record in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay

With a time of 7:07.53, the South American team claimed the gold and also established a new record at the continental event.

Tuesday, october 24nd, 2023.- The swimming events on Tuesday at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional concluded with a Pan American record in the men's 4x200m relay as Brazil secured the gold with a time of 7:07.53.

The silver medal went to the United States (7:08.06), and the bronze was claimed by Canada (7:14.76).

These three countries—Brazil, the United States, and Canada—dominated the day's races in the pool. In the same event for women, the United States finished first (7:55.26), followed by Brazil (7:55.85) and Canada (7:56.98).


A total of six swimming finals took place on Tuesday at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. The only medal that didn't go to an athlete from Canada, Brazil, or the United States was the bronze in the men's 50m freestyle, won by Bahamian swimmer Taylor Lamar.
