Maggie Mac Neil adds fourth gold medal at Pan American Games Santiago 2023

The Canadian confirms herself as the queen of the pool in Santiago 2023, following her shared victory with the American Gabi Albiero in the 50 meters.

Tuesday, october 24nd, 2023.- Canadian athlete Maggie McNeil added her fourth gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games, this time in female's 50 meters freestyle competition, where there was a shared gold medal.

American Gabi Albiero also had a time of 24.84, and both competitors secured the gold medal in an exciting race at the Centro Acuático of Estadio Nacional.

Thus, Mac Neil has had a remarkable performance in Santiago 2023, as in addition to Tuesday's victory, she also won in the 100 meters butterfly, 100 meters freestyle, and female's 4x100 freestyle relay.

Furthermore, she has won a silver medal (mixed 4x100 medley relay) and a bronze (4x100 freestyle relay), completing a total of six medals at the continental event.

The bronze in female's 50 meters freestyle went to the American Catie de Loof (24.88).

In the male category for the same event, the gold was claimed by the American David Curtiss (21.85), who was a silver medalist at the Junior World Championships in Budapest in 2019.

The silver medal went to his compatriot Jonathan Kulow (21.90), and the bronze was awarded to Bahamian athlete Lamar Taylor (22.13)
