Water Skiing: Regina Jaquess achieves her third gold medal

The American athlete won the female’s overall title, adding this victory to the ones she had already achieved in jump and slalom. Chilean skier Agustina Varas couldn't make it to the podium and finished in fourth place.

Tuesday, october 24nd, 2023.- The American skier Regina Jaquess solidified her dominance in the waters of Laguna Los Morros by securing the gold medal in the overall event on Tuesday. The day before, on Monday, she had already claimed victory in the jump and slalom competitions, which means she has now earned three gold medals in as many events.

The silver medal went to Canadian skier Paige Rini, while the bronze was awarded to another American, Anna Gay. Chilean skier Agustina Varas, unfortunately, missed out on a podium finish, coming in fourth place.

In the overall category, which combines scores from jump, slalom, and tricks, Regina Jaquess finished with 2,633.02 points, ahead of Rini (2,623.14) and Gay (2,599.36).

Further down the rankings were Chile's Agustina Varas with 1,730.83 points and the Colombian skiers Martina Piedrahita (1,564.90) and Daniela Verswyvel (1,406.35).

The water skiing events will conclude on Tuesday afternoon with the overall competition and the male’s wakeboard event.
