Racquetball: Bolivian duel, Conrrado Moscoso claims the gold

The world's number one defeated his compatriot Carlos Keller in the male singles final with scores of 11-2, 13-11, and 14-12. He had already secured a bronze in mixed doubles, and now, he will aim to step onto the podium in the male competition.

Tuesday, October 24, 2023.- In a Bolivian showdown, Conrrado Moscoso clinched the gold medal in the singles racquetball male competition, held at the Raquetas Sports Center in the National Stadium of Santiago.

In the final, the current world number one outperformed his compatriot Carlos Keller with scores of 11-2, 13-11, and 14-12 in a match he initially dominated but became much closer in the second and third sets.
This way, Moscoso and Keller secured Bolivia's first gold and silver medals, respectively, in the Pan American Games. It's worth noting that the top-ranked player also contributed a bronze, as he and Angélica Barrios lost in the mixed doubles semifinals to the Argentine pair of María José Vargas and Diego García.

The Sucre-born athlete thus adds another Pan American medal to his collection, having previously earned gold at the male team event in Lima 2019, silver in male doubles in Lima 2019 and Toronto 2015, and bronze in male singles in Lima 2019 and Toronto 2015. He also secured a third-place finish in the male team event in Canada.

Nevertheless, the participation of both Bolivian players in Santiago 2023 is not over. They will compete in the final racquetball event of the tournament, the team competition, which will take place on Thursday.
