The Pan American surfing competition kicked off with longboard qualifications

The long-awaited competition began at the well-known Punta de Lobos beach in the O'Higgins Region.

Tuesday, October 24, 2023.- The much-anticipated Pan American surfing competition had its first day at Punta de Lobos, a famous beach suitable for this sport located in the O'Higgins Region, just over 200 kilometers from Santiago.

Early in the morning, the longboard qualifications for both men and women began.

After three heats, the following men advanced: Carlos Bahía (Brazil), Julián Schweizer (Uruguay), Benoit Clemente (Canada), Rafael Cortez (Chile), Cole Robbins (United States), and Martín Pérez (Argentina).

Meanwhile, the female's qualifiers included: María Reyes (Peru), Agostina Pellizzari (Argentina), Chloe Calmon (Brazil), Sindy Portillo (El Salvador), Olivia Stokes (Canada), and Inés Beisso (Uruguay).
