Female Volleyball: Mexico defeated Chile in the closing match of Group B

The North American sextet won in an entertaining and thrilling game against the local team, finishing second in the group dominated by the Dominican Republic.

Monday, october 23nd, 2023.- Mexico achieved an important victory in volleyball by defeating Chile 24-26, 25-21, 25-15, and 21-18 in a packed Arena Parque O'Higgins.

The first set reflected the tension in the crowd at the venue. Chile did an excellent job of blocking and receiving from the backline. Mexico, on the other hand, struggled with lapses in concentration, leading to them losing the first set by a tight score of 26-24 in favor of Team Chile.

The second set was a fotography of the first one. Both teams displayed their best plays, but Mexico found a second wind and evened the overall score with a 25-21 victory.

In the third set, the Mexican sextet dominated and overwhelmed Chile to claim the set with a score of 25-15, a trend that continued in the fourth set, where they sealed the victory with a score of 25-18.

In the first shift, the Dominican Republic defeated Colombia in three straight sets with a strong performance from Bethania de la Cruz.

As a result, the Caribbean team won Group B with a perfect record of three 3-0 victories. Mexico finished in second place, Chile in third, and Colombia in last place without any wins.
