Canada and the United States "bathe" in gold in 200-meter breaststroke

In the female category, the champion was Sydney Pickrem, while in the male category, Jacob Foster celebrated, securing his second gold medal in this edition of the Pan American Games.

Monday, october 23nd, 2023.-  A day filled with swimming finals at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, and North American countries are starting to collect a significant share of the medals in the discipline held at the Centro de Deportes Acuáticos del Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos.

The second final on the afternoon of this Monday was the female 200-meter breaststroke, where once again, Canada showcased its prowess, with the gold medal won by Sydney Pickrem with a time of 2:23.39.

The silver medal went to her compatriot Kelsey Lauren Wog, who clocked in at 2:23.49, while the bronze was claimed by Brazilian Gabrielle Assis da Silva, with a time of 2:23.52.

In the men's category, same distance, the champion was the American Jacob Foster, who secured his second medal in Santiago 2023, taking the gold with a time of 2:10.71.

The 23-year-old swimmer had already celebrated a victory on Saturday when he won the 100-meter breaststroke.

Foster was followed by the Canadian Brayden Taivassalo, with a time of 2:10.89. Meanwhile, the bronze medal went to Mexico, thanks to Andrés Puente with a time of 2:11.99
