Monday, October 23rd.- Panama continued its impressive performance in baseball at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023. This Monday, they defeated the Dominican Republic 8-2 in Group A, held at Parque Bicentenario in Cerrillos.

After a closely contested start, the Mexican team scored the first points thanks to the runs by Roberto Ramos and Fernando Villegas in the fourth inning, giving hope for a victory.

However, Panama reacted in the fifth inning due to Mexico's pitching errors, and with runs from Luis Castillo, Jason Patterson, and Jhadiel Santamaria, they took the lead.

In the sixth inning, the Panamanian team increased their advantage with Eduardo Thomas. While Jhonny Santos, Edgard Muñoz, and Thomas added more runs for the final victory.

After their 4-1 victory over the Dominican Republic and a 6-0 win against Chile, Panama advanced to the Super Round as the exclusive group leader by winning all their matches. Meanwhile, Mexico qualified in the second position.

The Group A of baseball will conclude with a game between Chile and the Dominican Republic at 3:00 p.m., featuring two teams that have no chance of competing for a medal at Santiago 2023.

It's worth noting that the top two teams from each group will advance to the finals to contend for a medal.
