The United States and Chile reach semifinals in female and male’s events

The 3x3 basketball matchups are set, and only these two countries managed to advance both their male and female's teams to this stage.

Sunday, October 22nd.- With the 3x3 basketball semifinals on the horizon at the Estadio Español, only the United States and Chile still have a shot at medals in both male and female divisions.

In the female category, the American team defeated Venezuela 21-6, while in the male's category, they won 21-10 against Uruguay. Meanwhile, Chile beat Brazil 18-14 in the female's division and secured a strong 21-15 victory over Mexico in the male's category.

Ready to play against Chilean team, Lexie Hull, a standout player for the United States, analyzed her team's performance after beating Venezuela. She said, "It was a good game, very physical, and we had to keep playing through the contact as a team. I think we are still getting used to the venue and playing together. This is only our third game as a group, so we are still building that chemistry and improving with each game. Tomorrow we will take one game at a time and hopefully win the gold."

The Chilean male's team will face Venezuela in the semifinals, and Diego Silva highlighted the great campaign they have had so far. He said, "There are few words to describe what we are doing. It's great teamwork, with a lot of humility, and putting egos aside. The audience is supporting us, getting behind us, and that's a big plus. Tomorrow we hope to achieve great things to bring joy to you all", said the chilean.

In the male's division, the United States will face Trinidad and Tobago, the surprising team that defeated Brazil 20-19 in the quarter-finals. Brazil was considered one of the top contenders as they finished fourth at the Vienna World Championship.

Canyon Barry commented on the upcoming match against the Central American team, saying, "We will have a tough semifinal, so we will rest tonight, start studying our opponent. That's all we can do for now, but it's always a pleasure to play with these guys. It feels like we are getting closer every time, knowing where everyone will be on the court, and we continue to grow as a team."
