Sunday, October 22nd.- The female volleyball match between Chile and Colombia at Santiago 2023 on Sunday was thrilling. Electrifying and motivating, especially for the spectators who packed the stands at the Arena Santiago.
Chile started the game aggressively, blocking any attempts by the Colombian team to make tight line shots. Colombia responded with tactical play that pushed the Chilean players to their limits. This led to a tie at 11-11, but Chile reacted and took the lead 14-11.
The Colombian team, however, did not give up and took control of the game, even pulling ahead 21-20 after equalizing at 20-20. What followed was a back-and-forth battle. Colombia surpassed Chile on two occasions, and they had to decide the set with a two-point difference. It was there that Chile, thanks to precise spikes and efficient defensive play, won the first set 29-27.
The second set saw Colombia taking the initiative and going up 8-5. Chile tied the score at 10-10, but the opponent once again capitalized on a Chilean service error to take the lead and establish a four-point advantage. From that point, Chile balanced the game again and, with a timely comeback, secured the second set 25-23.
Colombia felt the impact and could do little in the final part, where Chile grew to claim a resounding 25-7 victory, securing their first win in Group B.
In the same group, in the early match, the Dominican Republic defeated Mexico in three sets.
