Sunday, october 22nd, 2023.- Team Chile earned another bronze medal on Sunday, this time in taekwondo. Claudia Gallardo, competing in the-67-kilogram category, defeated the Canadian Ashley Kraayeveld with a score of 2-0.

Gallardo dominated the match, winning the first round 6-1. In the second round, the score was closer at 18-14, but Gallardo maintained her good rhythm and secured the bronze medal.

After her victory, Gallardo expressed: "I'm very excited. It was challenging to bounce back; I was feeling down after my previous loss, but at least we won something."

Regarding her feelings, she stated, "It was a relief; it was a long and tough process, and it's a relief to have this part behind me."

Gallardo highlighted the support from the audience at the Centro de Deporte de Contacto del Estadio Nacional, which played a crucial role in her bronze medal win.

"It was an experience I hadn't felt this way before, and it's a very good feeling," concluded the Chilean athlete.
