Canadian Alannah Yip secured the third spot, followed by another American, Anastasia Sanders, who finished fourth.

The surprise of the day came from Chile's Alejandra Contreras, who landed in fifth place and qualified for the final, scheduled for Tuesday.

Raboutou took the lead by totaling 176 points (99.8 in bouldering and 76.1 in lead), while Grossman scored 175.9 points. This sets the stage for a fierce battle between them for the gold medal in the final.

Chile's Contreras earned 102.9 points, with 69.8 in bouldering and 33.1 in lead, making her the best South American performer in the Pan American sports climbing event.

On Saturday, in the same discipline, the American Jesse Grupper comfortably led the semifinal, followed by his compatriot Sean Bailey. In the women's speed climbing category, they won gold and silver thanks to Piper Kelly and Emma Hunt.
