Sunday, october 22nd, 2023.- Female volleyball at Santiago 2023 continued on Sunday at the Arena Parque O'Higgins, with Brazil comfortably defeating Argentina in the second match of the day, part of Group A.
The Brazilian team emerged victorious with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-18, earning them a victory that allowed them to move to the top of their group and secure a spot in the next round. They have a strong chance of doing so as the group leader, provided they defeat Puerto Rico on Monday.
On the other hand, Argentina is now in third place and will need to win against Cuba on Monday to join Brazil in the semifinals as the second-place team in their group.
During Sunday afternoon, matches in Group B will take place, with the Dominican Republic facing Mexico at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Chilean team playing against Colombia at 8:30 p.m.
It's worth noting that the women's volleyball competition consists of two groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance directly to the tournament's semifinals, while the second and third-place teams will qualify for the quarterfinals.
