Diving: Canadian Vallee Secures Top Spot in 1m Springboard Final

The finals for the 1m springboard and the men's synchronized 10m platform will take place at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional in Santiago during Sunday afternoon.

Sunday, october 22nd, 2023.-  Canadian diver Mia Vallee secured the top spot in the final of the women's 1m springboard event at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. The final is set to take place Sunday evening (local time) at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional.

In the qualifications, the North American diver finished with 274.90 points, followed by Mexican diver Arantxa Chávez (267.10) and Canadian diver Pamela Ware (259.95).

The other qualified divers competing for medals include Cuban diver Prisis Ruiz (258.90), American diver Halley Hernández (248.35), Colombian divers Daniela Zapata (230.85) and Elizabeth Pérez (228.40), Mexican diver Carolina Mendoza (226.35), Peruvian diver Ana Ricci (216.00), Cuban diver Anisley García (216.00), American diver Joslyn Oakley (213.25), and Brazilian diver Rebeca Santana (203.45).

This evening (Chilean time), the final of the men's synchronized 10m platform will also take place. Pairs from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Canada will be participating.

This will mark the second day of medal events in diving, following Saturday's male 1m springboard category, where Mexico secured the gold with Osmar Olvera scoring 424.70. The podium also featured the Dominican Jonathan Ruvalcaba (384.90) and the Colombian Luis Uribe (371.20).
