Sunday, Oct 22nd.- The United States added another gold medal to solidify its lead at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023. Kristen Faulkner secured a comfortable win in the female's individual time trial, which took place between Isla de Maipo and the Palacio de La Moneda.

In the cycling event, Chilean cyclist Aranza Villalón achieved a meritorious third-place finish, contributing the first bronze medal for Team Chile.

Cuba, represented by Arlenis Sierra, clinched the silver medal, finishing in the second position after a tight sprint where she defeated Chilean Villalón.

The American cyclist recorded a time of 25 minutes, 45 seconds, and 38 hundredths to claim the gold medal, while Cuban Sierra arrived 21.73 seconds later. Chilean Villalón was only 17 hundredths behind the Cuban and secured the third position.

"I wanted the gold, but this is an extra accomplishment. Today would have been different because a few days ago, I lost my brother to an unfortunate incident. I want to express my gratitude to my support team and the Olympic Committee, who provided me with a new bike for this Pan American Games, as we must be at the level of the competitors. I also want to thank my coach, Daniel Bretti," emotionally shared Chilean Aranza Villalón, who tragically lost her brother in a public incident just two days ago.
