Gymnastics: United States obtains Pan American gold in team event

The Centro de Deportes Colectivos of Estadio Nacional witnessed a high-flying day for Male Artistic Gymnastics, which also crowned Canada and Brazil with silver and bronze, respectively.

Saturday, Oct 21st.- As expected, the United States, Canada, and Brazil arrived in Santiago 2023 as the strongest teams in Male Artistic Gymnastics, a discipline that offers direct spots for Paris 2024. And, precisely, at the Centro de Deportes Colectivos of Estadio Nacional, these three powerhouses showcased their credentials.

Thus, the United States secured the gold in the overall competition in the six disciplines, amassing a total of 249.860 points. Behind them, Canada collected 246.794 points to claim the silver, while Brazil earned 245.394 points, closing the podium with the bronze.

Among the disciplines, Brazil stood out on the pommel horse, with Yuri Guimaraes scoring a total of 14.400 points.

The United States, on the other hand, was not to be outdone, and in the rings, the gymnast Whittenburg Donnell achieved a total of 14.433 points.

Argentina provided a surprise by securing a second place in the individual rings event, with Daniel Villafañe scoring 14.200 points.

The Argentinian gymnast was deeply moved by the reception from the Chilean audience.
