Chilean Neglia will seek the gold against the favorite Yost in the diving final

The local competitor qualified with the tenth-best score for the one-meter specialty final at the Pan American Games

Saturday, Oct 21st.- Chilean diver Donato Neglia has qualified for the final in the one-meter event, where he hopes to surprise in a field that has the representative from the United States, Lyle Yost, as the top favorite.

The competition took place in a great atmosphere at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional, where the audience enjoyed the performances of the 19 competitors.

The best of the day was the American Yost, who scored 382.65 points, taking the first place.

He was followed by the Dominican Jonathan Ruvalcaba with 374.40, and the third best score was achieved by the Mexican Osmar Olvera with 366.00.

Chile's Neglia managed to reach the final with the tenth-best score of 324.40.

The other competitors vying for the gold medal will be the Cuban Luis Cañabete (354.20), the Peruvian Jesús Liranzo (248.15), the American Jack Ryan (341.65), the Colombian Luis Uribe (339.80), the Brazilian Rafael Fogaca (330.30), the Canadian Thomas Ciprick (327.60), the Colombian Daniel Restrepo (322.70), and the Dominican Frandiel Gómez (317.20).

The repechage will feature the Jamaican Yona Knight-Wisdom (316.10) and the Venezuelan Jesús González (315.60).

The final will take place this Saturday starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional.
