Saturday, Oct 21st.- During the competition, Brazil's quality in this discipline was evident, with two of its athletes placed at the top of the ranking since the first rounds: Jhulia Rayssa Mendes and Pamela Leite.
Mendes, also known as Rayssa Leal, started with a score of 76.03 in the first round, while in the tricks stage she scored 76.72 and 84.23 in her third and fourth rounds. This allowed her to lead the competition with an average of 236.98 and win the gold medal.
Once the competition was over, the Imperatriz native said she felt "very happy" for the achievement obtained at the age of 15, and for representing her country. Also, according to her own words, she assured that the Explanada de Deportes Urbanos was "a great stage".
As for Leite, he was able to record 73.17 points in the second round. As for tricks, he was able to score 60.73 and 77.44 in the third and fourth rounds. With a cumulative score of 211.34, she was able to aspire to the silver medal.
The podium was completed by American Paige Heyn, who scored 69.52 in her second round. In the third and fourth trick rounds, she finished with 42.18 and 64.65, and thanks to her 176.35 total, she was able to get the bronze medal.
