Friday, Oct 20th.- After the opening ceremony, the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 will have its first full day of competition, and it will be intense: 20 sports in action, with nine of them featuring finals for the coveted medals, which this time its core will be made of copper, Chile's primary mined mineral.

The definitions kick off in the morning with mountain biking at the Club Deportivo Universidad Católica in Las Condes and taekwondo, which will take place in the new Centro de Deportes de Contacto within the Parque Estadio Nacional. Both disciplines will be held at similar times.

In addition, champions will be determined in diving, sport climbing (speed), artistic gymnastics (teams), weightlifting, swimming, skateboarding (street), and shooting in the 10m air rifle specialty.

Meanwhile, baseball and boxing will continue with preliminary rounds, and the debut of badminton, 3x3 basketball, BMX Racing, water ski, modern pentathlon, racquetball, and the start of regional sports will take place, with rowing at the Laguna Grande in San Pedro de la Paz, Biobío, being a highlight.
