Check out the sport calendar for the first week of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

The sport that will open this continental event will be baseball and the first medalist will be announced on Saturday.

Monday, October 16th, 2023 - The XIX Pan American Games are around the corner. As it’s a tradition in these kinds of events, some sports will start before the opening ceremony being held this Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Parque Estadio Nacional’s coliseum.

It will be Baseball, which is only played in the male category, the one to open the sport calendar this Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Chile vs Mexico in the new courts built at Cerrillos. The boxing preliminaries begin this Thursday at Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico in Ñuñoa district, and on Friday it will be diving’s turn at the renovated Aquatic Center at Parque Estadio Nacional.

After the official opening on Saturday, 20 sports will be in action and the first medallist of the Games will be announced. There will be finals in mountain bike, diving, sport climbing, artistic gymnastics, powerlifting, swimming, skateboarding, taekwondo, and shooting.

Meanwhile, on Sunday there will be events in marathon, cycling BMX racing, road cycling time trial event, and the awarding of medals will continue for diving, sport climbing, artistic gymnastics, powerlifting, swimming, skateboarding, taekwondo, and shooting. On the weekend, iconic disciplines such as water skiing, rowing, volleyball, beach volleyball, equestrian, and female football will start.

There are still many tickets left that can be obtained through the PuntoTicket system. People younger than 18 and over 60 years old have free access by downloading their entry, and BancoEstado clients can benefit from 50% off their tickets.
